Fall Con 2015

posted Sep 19, 2015, 4:30 PM by Unknown user   [ updated Oct 25, 2015, 11:41 AM by Victor Ginsburg ]

UPDATE: Fall Con 2015 is cancelled. Stay tuned for announcements on future JPD Youth Cons!

Something wicked this way comes...it's Fall Con 2015, on Halloween weekend!

This year's Fall Con will be held at the First Unitarian Church of Baltimore Maryland  at 12 W Franklin St., Baltimore, MD 21201 from 8pm Friday October 30 - 8am Sunday November 1st

Registration forms are linked below OR the Online Con Registration Online link (to the left of the page). If you want to print out a form, please fill it out and mail it to our Registrar, Victor Ginsburg, whose mailing address in listed on the form. If you want to do the online form, please fill it out, print out the digital copy of the registration form, and mail it to him by the deadline listed on the form.

Notice 2: Please bring warm clothes for outdoor activities and comfortable sleeping attire, including pillow, and sleeping bag/blankets .

Newbie Advice:    The Con environment is an amazing and great experience, but Newbies must be prepared for a unique atmosphere.  Oldbies, who have been a part of more than 2 Cons, know the playing field very well. An appropriate analogy is a Junior leading a Freshman in high school. Freshmen can be overwhelmed with homework and stress. Juniors know how everything works, and can give encouraging advice that will help Freshmen enjoy their high school experience.  DYSC members are excellent advisers that will be more than happy to teach Newbies how to enjoy Con to the fullest.

This Con we hope to celebrate Halloween, UU culture and being together!

If you have any questions, feel free to email Victor Ginsburg, the Registrar, at registrar@jpdysc.org

Online registration is at http://s.jpdysc.org/reg.

CHANGES TO REGISTRATION PROCESS:

The online registration process is different for this Con than for previous Cons. The biggest change is that we are now collecting parent/guardian and participant signatures online. You MUST provide all the required signatures when you register online (note: you only need a driver’s signature if YOU are driving. Your driver doesn’t need to sign your registration). We are also no longer collecting advisor’s signatures before the Con.

If you want to mail in your registration, the process hasn’t changed. Just print out the PDF attached to this post, fill it out and sign it, and mail it along with a check/cash for the appropriate amount.

The Early Bird registration perk has been removed. All non-DYSC youth (except first-time Congoers) will pay the same amount, regardless of when they register. Additionally, the deadline for registration is moving to the Tuesday before the Con. This deadline will be strictly enforced.

While true for previous Cons, it’s worth mentioning again: you need to have an advisor BEFORE the Con! If you need help finding one, feel free to email the registrar at registrar@jpdysc.org.
